Developing my ideas for fabrics

After my first attempt at making fabric samples did not go as well as I intended, I looked back through my research of straitjackets to give me some ideas of what techniques I can experiment with. The black and white grainy photographs shown below were inspiring for me, and gave off the same stretched, and distorted feel as my spider webs photographs.

It would be useful to get a stretched, tied, tight quality coming through in my knits as my previous samples look too basic. By revisiting my research I have also decided I wanted my knit samples to be made mostly from cotton and viscose, as it is smooth, natural and glossy yarns that remind me most of the webs.
