Skin

My tutor showed me a piece of work by the photographer Sophie Lemedioni that made me want to explore more into skin. After being inspired by corsets and other garments that physically distorted and dis-formed the body, it could help to bring another element to my fabrics like using yarns with fleshy, rubbery qualities or skin tones. The reason why Lemedioni photograph really interested me was the unpredictable, and uncontrolled way the skin shaped and moulded. It creates unique forms in the body, as well as restricting the natural movement, and flat surface of the skin.

To explore the skin more so I took my own photographs in a similar style to Lemedioni to give me inspiration for shapes and structures to work from.
